I’ve got a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell…
The 2020 quarantine guidelines asked us to be together apart or was it apart together?
Whatever it was, as we approach 10 weeks of being fenced in, my mind just keeps on wandering. I think about cows...apart but together-like us. Wandering aimlessly-like most of us. Grazing-all of us…looking for glimmers of hope. Ruminating-most of us grappling with our mental health on the daily. We can’t do this til the cows come home but we can ring that cowbell as we celebrate the wins on our way back.
My daughter got a text this morning from her boss and screamed “I am working tonight”! I immediately ran, grabbed my cowbell (of course I have one and of course I know exactly where it hangs-I am always ready to celebrate) and ran not one but 3 victory laps!
While I know it will be some time before we are back to normal normal, every time that cowbell rings, we are one step closer to home.
I could’ve used a little more cowbell a little sooner, but I will take it! The grass IS GREENER on the other side of the fence.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
